Finance Manager

An exceptional opportunity to work for a truly impactful community-based organisation, leading their finances and working with a significant number of volunteers to make a difference within their market.

We are seeking an experienced and analytical finance manager, with strong numerical skills to drive the organisation’s financial operations and improve financial performance. Your skills in sound financial planning will assist the organisation in implementing and maintaining effective financial strategies, improving revenue, maintaining a healthy financial position and enhancing members’ confidence. This will entail the finance manager having to complete the tasks of a bookkeeper as well as an accountant.

The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical skills, good strategic thinking, excellent communications, exceptional numerical proficiency, and strong leadership skills. The finance manager should harmonise financial operations, develop effective financial strategies, guide efforts to financial stability, monitor all financial activities, promote revenue growth, ensure compliance with accounting and tax regulations, and maintain good relationships with branches and members.

Your responsibilities will encompass the following:
- Directing financial planning and strategy
- Analysing and reporting on financial performance
- Overseeing audit and tax functions
- Preparing forecasts and comprehensive budgets
- Training and helping branch treasurers
- Assessing, managing, and minimising risk
- Analysing complex financial data
- Ensure that all of the company’s financial practices are in line with statutory regulations and legislation
- Managing internal controls
- Recognise patterns in company spending, revenue, and recommend solutions to any problem areas
- Coordinate with external financial entities on behalf of the company

To be considered, you'll need to demonstrate these skills and attributes:
- Full qualification in CIMA, ACCA or equivalent
- In-depth knowledge of accounting software and corporate principals
- Demonstrable experience in financial management
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Computer literacy and experience in MS Excel and Sage
- Strong analytical and organisational skills
- Broad knowledge of accounting principles

This role will be fully remote, with the very occasional need to attend face to face meetings in Central London.
We are happy to consider applications from across the UK, with the understanding that occasional travel to London will be necessary.
