Rev. Archpriest Mitrat Bohdan Matwijczuk (far right) during the Liturgy on Sunday

During a celebration of the Divine Liturgy in Genk, Belgium, over the weekend, Rev Bohdan Matwijczuk of the Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church in the UK was bestowed with the title of Archpriest Mitrat in recogition of his services to the Church.

Fr. Matwijczuk is well known within the Ukrainian community in this country.  He is extremely dedicated to his mission and is ever present at virually every major occasions that take place in our community throughout the country, doesn't give a second thought about his own welfare and the inconveniences of distant travel to attend an event that may last only 20 minutes and he sets a magnificent example to us all on how to work not only within one's own local community and parishoners, but also with the wider population and people of all faiths.  We admire him for this and the honour bestowed upon him over the weekend is trully merited.

Our best wishes and very sincere greetings go out to him on behalf of the whole of the Association of Ukrainians in Great Britain.

На Многії й Благії Baм Літа, отче митрате!
