RESULTS OF THE 2ND HOLODOMOR ESSAY PRIZE COMPETITION 2019

The AUGB is very pleased to announce the results of the 2nd Holodomor Essay Prize Competition 2019:

1st Prize (£1,000): Rachael Ward, The John Henry Newman Catholic School, Stevenage; 

2nd Prize (£400): Tobias Whelton, Greenshaw High School, Sutton;

3rd Prize (£200): Anastasia Ougrin, Brighton College, Brighton.

Highly Commended: Sarah Shah, Wakefield Girls’ High School, Wakefield.

Highly Commended: Leah Nicole Dorotiak, Greenhead College, Huddersfield.

The winning essays were of a very high standard and will be available on the AUGB website within the next few weeks.

Out congratulations go out to all of the above and thanks and best wishes to all participants in this year’s competition.  Special thanks are due to the Competition’s Coordinator, Hanya Dezyk, to the judging panel headed by Cambridge University lecturer and Director of the Cambridge Ukrainian Studies programme, Dr Olenka Pevnyj, and to all school history departments for encouraging their students to research the subject of the Holodomor and to take part in the competition.
