Yesterday we posted a short piece on our Facebook page about news of Nadia Diuk being awarded the Order of Princess Olha. We are reproducing the piece below.

However, it is now with much sadness that we write to say that Nadia passed away yesterday evening. Though she finally lost her battle against illness, her soul can today honourably repeat the words of St. Paul: “ I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith”.

We extend our sincerest condolences to Hanya Dezyk and her family. May they be reassured that our prayers and thoughts are with them at this difficult time.

Вічна і Блаженная Пам’ять!  Rest in Peace!

Announcement of an Award:

We were absolutely delighted to hear that Coventry-born Nadia Diuk has been awarded the Order of Princess Olha. The announcement came in a Presidential Decree issued yesterday to mark Ukraine’s Day of Sovereignty.

In a letter to Nadia, Ukraine’s Ambassador to the US, Valeriy Chaliy, very aptly said that “your award is testimony to the high level of appreciation that exists towards you for the many years of your energetic work for Ukraine, your great personal contribution to the cause of developing and strengthening the strategic partnership between Ukraine and the United States and the steadfast authority with which you are respected both in Ukraine and within the Ukrainian community of America. For decades you have worked tirelessly to bring forth democratic changes to our country, illustrating your genuine patriotism and the selfless service towards your second Motherland”.

Our most sincere congratulations go out to Nadia on her truly deserved award and we wish her every God’s blessing at all times!
