This year marks the 85th anniversary of the 1932-33 Holodomor, a man-made famine instigated by Joseph Stalin during which millions of Ukrainians were deliberately and systematically starved to death.

Four regional Services of Remembrance commemorating the victims of the Holodomor will take place in the South East, the Midlands, Northern England and Scotland on Saturday 24 November 2018. These services are open to everyone so please invite family and friends to a service closest to where you live.

The poster below sets out all of the locations and times in a readily accessible format but for the avoidance of doubt, the addresses of each venue are:

  • Coventry Cathedral: Priory St, Coventry CV1 5FB.
  • Holodomor memorial in Scotland: Junction of Blenheim Place and Royal Terrace, Edinburgh EH7.
  • Westminster Abbey, Westminster, London SW1P 3PA.
  • Leeds Cathedral: Great George Street, Leeds LS2 8BE.

A number of other local Services of Remembrance or commemorations will also take place in November (see poster below for dates and times). The addresses are:

  • Holodomor memorial in Bolton: Gilnow Road, Bolton BL1 4LH.
  • AUGB Manchester Cultural Centre: 31 Smedley Lane, Cheetham, Manchester M8 8XB.
