Following on from last weekend’s AUGB Branch Conference held in Nottingham and then the Branch Chair’s video-conference meeting held on Wednesday, the AUGB’s Board of Directors met on Saturday to discuss further activities of the organisation.

Current significant issues were reviewed in relation to the AUGB’s assets, legal matters that it faces, strategic, risk and compliance issues and other matters for noting, including some of the key events of the past couple of months: meeting of ‘bratni ustanovy’, AUGB Art Exhibition to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Shevchenko Library & Archive, the  publication of a 132-page catalogue, celebration of the 50th anniversary of the UWC in the UK, participation in UWC Conferences held in Brussels and Toronto, visit of Patriarch Sviatoslav Shevchuk, Holodomor events/letters/replies from HMG, Spirit of Ukraine Festival, meetings/representations at various events, etc.

The Board also appointed a sub-committee headed by Iryna Terlecky tasked with organising events to commemorate the 85th anniversary of the 1932-33 Holodomor during 2018.

The next meeting of the Board is due to take place in London on 27 January.
