UKRAINE ELECTION WITH 92.8% VOTES COUNTED (28.10.2014 @ 16.09)

While voting for new MP's in Sunday's election, Ukrainian voters appear to have also indicated who they would prefer to see as their next PM.

With 92.8% of the votes now counted, Arseniy Yatseniuk's People's Front party leads the field with a 22.21% share of the vote - slightly ahead of President Poroshenko's Block on 21.79% and well ahead of the Samopomich (Self-help) party, which remains in third position with 10.99%.

The new "Opposition Block", consisting of former members of the disgraced Party of the Regions, has accumulated (all things considered) a suprisingly high 9.3% share of the vote ahead of Lyashko's Radical Party (7.45%) and Yulia Tymoshenko's Batkivshchyna party (5.69%)

Oleh Tiahnybok's "Svoboda" party (4.79%) has joined 22 other parties who are currently below the 5% threshold needed to gain access to the proportional allocation of half of the 450 parliamentary seats. The remaining seats are decided as individual constituencies.
