As day 9 of the Paralympics ends, Ukraine's paralympic team celebrates breaking through the 70 medal barrier and reaching the medals total achieved in Beijing. Ukraine now has 30 gold medals (6 more than in Beijing), 19 silvers and 25 bronze.

The day began with a gold medal and new world record for F11/12 long-jumper Oksana Zubkovska with a jump of 6.60m. More medals were added by Ukraine's swimmers. 17-year old Oksana Khrul in the S6 50m butterfly not only won the gold, but smashed another world record. Maksym Veraksa won his third gold medal in the 50m freestyle. Olga Sviderska won silver in the 50m freestyle and Danylo Chufarov bronze in the 200m individual medley.

As the day drew to an end, Ukraine's women's sitting volleyball team added a bronze medal, beating the Netherlands by 3 sets - 0.

Another highlight of the day was Ukraine's 2-1 victory over Iran in the 7-a-side football, which brings a final against Russia on Sunday. We'll continue to be right behind all Ukraine's paralympians!
