The Bolton Branch of AUGB organised the showing of an Exhibition on the Holodomor in Bolton Museum.  It will be open to the public from 14-26 November.

The exhibition, situated on the mezzanine of the museum, was officially opened last week by the Mayor of Bolton, Councillor Noel Spencer MBE and his partner in the presence of approximately 40 people.  Among the VIP's present at the ceremony were Cllrs. Frank White and Roger Hayes (leader of the Liberals in Bolton) and also AUGB Board members Anna Kecyk and Bohdan Ratycz.

The Mayor's speech was moving and well received:  "Whilst we remember the dead from the wars recently, we should not forget the dead of this genocide (Bolton Council recognised Holodomor as an act of genocide in March 2009)".

Cllr Frank White was instrumental in assisting AUGB Bolton Branch to persuade Bolton Council to recognise the 1932-33 systematic annihilation of the population in Ukraine through forced starvation as genocide.

All secondary schools in the Bolton area have been invited to bring their history classes to visit the Exhibition.
