AMBASSADOR'S BLOG: CHERNOBYL CHARITY WALK – LAST CHANCE!

Kyiv
21.04.11

I blogged in March about the Chernobyl charity walk which members of the British and French embassies were planning for 22 April.  The great news is that the event, which is to help The Children of Chernobyl Relief and Development Fund and BLESMA, has already raised over UAH 130,000 – around £10,000.  This is a terrific result – congratulations to all concerned.

What can you do to support this initiative?  Here’s an easy check-list:

1. Most important, it’s not too late to make your donation and show your support!

2. Next, you can come with friends, family, colleagues and anyone else you fancy on Friday, April 22, to Mykhalivska Square at 15:30 to meet the team members and wish them well.  The walk will start promptly at 16:00 hrs.

3. You can also follow the walkers’ every step in real-time by tuning to their blog.

I’ll be there at 1530 to see the team off.  I wish them all the best and look forward to a guest blog on this site after the event.
