22 NOVEMBER COMMEMORATION DETAILS RELEASED

06.05.08

We can now confirm that the commemoration will be held at Westminster Central Hall, starting at 14.00 on Saturday 22 November (at the same time as commemorations will be starting in Kyiv and in many other places around the world). This is a prestigious and symbolic venue, as the first meeting of the United Nations was held here in 1946. After the programme at Central Hall, we plan to go across to Westminster Abbey, where we have been invited for evensong, and to lay a wreath at the memorial to victims of oppression, violence and war.

We are now working on the programme for the day and will publicise details as soon as possible. In the meantime, please start to encourage as many people as possible to attend. Central Hall seats just over 2000 people, and we need every seat filled to honour the memory of the millions of innocent victims of the Holodomor in the way that they deserve, to show our strength of feeling, and to maximise the chances of media coverage.
