Scotland's Ukrainian Catholic community was delighted to recently welcome the Apostolic Administrator for Ukrainian Catholics in Great Britain and Ireland, Bishop Hlib Lonchyna.  It was the bishop's first pastoral visit to Scotland.

He concelebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Ukrainian Catholic Church in Edinburgh and in Saint Andrew’s Cathedral in Dundee with local parish priest, Fr. Lubomyr Pidluski.  Both services were well attended.

Following the service in Edinburgh, refreshments were laid on in the church hall during which Bishop Hlib gave a speech on the history of the Ukrainian Catholic Church.  There was also a question and answer session during which he outlined his views and vision on the future of the Ukrainian Catholic Church in Scotland.  The local choir sang two songs from its repertoire in honour of its special guest.

Many of those in attendance later commented on how inspirational the Bishop’s visit and words of wisdom had been.
