2213. Maidan Poroshenko shows official proof of laws adopted today - Holos Ukryiny, the official press of Parliament.  Speeches continue... 

2200. Yuriy Lutsenko thanks everyone who made today's result possible.  

2130 Yulia Tymoshenko comes on onto Maidan stage Kyiv in wheelchair to loud cheers. She told ten of thousands gathered in the Square that Maidan had to remain in place until all of its demands are met. Yanukovych and his cohorts need to be brought before the Maidan and all those who perpetrated crimes against the nation. 

"When snipers fired bullets into the hearts of dead boys, they fired thenm into the hearts of us all.  And if those that organised and carried out such crimes are not brought to justice by the most severe of courts, we will not be worth anything... and will be shamed forever".

Tymoshenko said that the Maidan has to part of the political process in reforming the country, and people of the Maidan have to be in parliament.

21.25 Maidan sings National Anthem and pay homage to Ukraine's greatest poet, Taras Shevchenko, by singing "The Roaring, Groaning Dnipro". 

2100: Mezhyhiya (former residence of Yanukovych): Extremely valuable museum objects found - they appear to have been prepared for quick removal.

2055: Ministry of Health says 82 people have died since 18 February.

2045: Office of Communist Party of Ukraine stormed in Kyiv.

2042: Lenin statue in Konotop demolished.

2041. Last 16 ton bronze stztue of Lenin in Sumy demolished. 

2040: Lenin statue being pulled down in Kharkiv.

2025. Border control does not know whether Yanukovych has fled the country.

1905. Hanna Herman says that Viktor Yanukovych still considers himself President despite Parliament's decision of today. Speaking to UNIAN news agency, Herman said: "The President does not recognise this decision of the Verkhovna Rada (Parliament) and regards it unlawful. He has only been away for half a day on a working visit to Kharkiv, which has been treated as self-removal".

1854. Bells toll in Maidan during a minute's silence in memory of the Heroes that died during the crisis that has afflicted the country for the past 90 days. The crowd chanted "Heroes do not die" as the National Dnipro Choir sang Mozart's requiem to the accompaniament of orchestral music.  This was followed by yet another coffin of a protester being brought before the stage to chants of "Glory to the heroes".

18.49: State border service confirms that Kharkiv mayor Hennadiy Kernes and Kharkiv governor Mykhailo Dobkin have fled Ukraine.

1836. Klytschko addresses Maidan and returns and impores everyone not to take the law into their own hands. His words follow on from news that one Regionnaire MP who had voted with the opposition today has been captured by protesters.  The stage announcer called on everyone to respect this and to avoid any revenge attacks. Anyone who should be brought to justice will be by the new authorities. 

1805: EU recognises Oleksandr Turchynov as Acting President of Ukraine.

1759. Maidan stage announcement:   Yulia Tymoshenko on way to Kyiv to appear this evening on Maidan stage.

1757. Maidan stage announcement:  Presidential election will officially take place on 25 May.

1740. YULIA TYMOSHENKO HAS NOW OFFICIALLY BEEN RELEASED AND IS LEAVING THE CENTRAL HOSPITAL IN KHARKIV A FREE WOMAN.

1730. Parliament adjourns until 10.00 hrs tomorrow.

1728. Oleh Mokhnitsky has been tasked by Parliament to oversee the office of the Presecutor General. 296 votes in favour.

1723. Volodymyr Zamana has been tasked by Parliament to oversee the Ministry of Defence. 306 votes in favour.

1718. Valentyn Nalyvaichenko has been tasked by Parliament to oversee the Ukrainian Secret Services. 299 votes in favour.

1713. CONFIRMED. VIKTOR YANUKOVYCH IS NO LONGER THE PRESIDENT OF UKRAINE.

1710. Speaker of Parliament Turchynov announced that Viktor Yanukovych had told Batkivshchyna leader Arseniy Yatseniuk that he was prepared to resign. However he has since made statements to the contrary. Parliament then adopted law 4193 removing Viktor Yanukovych from the presidency of Ukraine. 328 deputies voted in favour of the law and as soon as the vote was passed deputies broke out into resounding applause and sang the National Anthem.

1643. Several activists have lined up near the Lenin statue in Donetsk to protect it.

1640. Dnipropetrovsk militia have officially announced allegiance with the people.

1620. Film extract of Yanukovych interview on UBR TV

1611: Espreso TV reporting that Viktor Yanukovych has given an interview on Kharkiv-based Channel 112 TV (which is linked to former Interior Minister Zakharchenko).  He is alleged to have claimed that events in Kyiv and in Ukraine's parliament today are tantamount to a state coup. He is also alleged to have said that he has not resigned and that he fled Kyiv last night under gunfire. He also allegedly said that he is doing a tour of Eastern and Southern Ukraine.

1600: Defence Minister in the Azarov government Pavlo Lebed has flown out to the Crimea.  Ukraiyinska Pravda cites a source saying that documents relating to the movements of riot police during the crisis are being destroyed in the Ministry of Defence, allegedly under the supervision of Lebedev's deputy, Volodymyr Mozharovsky.

15.40: The number of Regionnaire MP's who have resigned from the party today alone has now risen to 26.

1537: Journalists have gained access to a mass of documents in 'Mezhyhirya' (Yanukovych's residence) which clearly incriminate Viktor Yanukovych in corruption including payments to military officers and dossiers on journalists and actions to be taken against them. They have also found a portrait of Yanukovych in gold weighing 1 kilogram. 

1520. One minute's silence observed on Maidan for 130 protesters killed since the crisis in Ukraine began.

1510 High ranking military officers (including Alpha and Berkut) giving press conference declaring that they are with the people.

1459: City chief of Kirovohrad, Sainus, has resigned. 

1458 Lenin statue in Myrohorod pulled down.

1450 Kertch. "Titushky" attack pro-democracy protesters.  Injured hospitalised.

1445. Viktor Yanukovych's spokesperson Hanna Herman has denied reports that the president has resigned. However, news of the Yanukovych's statement has spread like wildfire throughout Ukraine.  The statement is expected to be read out in Parliament at 1600 hrs.

1432  IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT IS ABOUT TO BE MADE OFFICIALLY IN VERKHOVNA RADA THAT PRESIDENT YANUKOVYCH HAS RESIGNED

1430. Pro-democracy protestests in Mykolayiv have scuffled with a group of activists who tried to defend the statue of Lenin there. The latter activists have fled.

1424 New interim Minister of Interior Arseniy Avakov has announced that members of Maidan's Self Defence and "Right Sector" will be included in the leadership of the Interior Ministry.

1420. Lenin statues being pulled down in Cherkassy and Vinnytsia regions.

1412 Large crowd assembled near Parliament. Atmosphere relaxed. Families out with children.  Self Defence protesters stand protecting Parliament building.

1410. Sniper detained by protesters in Maidan Square.

1355 According to News 24 tv ua, citing well informed sources, ex Minister of Interior Vitaliy Zakharchenko, Oleksandr Yanukovych, Oleksandr Klymenko, acting PM Serhiy Arbuzov, ex Deputy Speaker Ihor Kaletnyk and head of the National Council of TV and Radio Volodymyr Manzhov all fled the country last night.

1353. Pro-democracy rally in Kharkiv chants "East and West together".  Protesters there from various parts of Eastern Ukraine.

1350. ABC Reporter tweets that Yanukovych will make a special TV address to the nation... to announce his resignation?

1349  Massive pro democracy rally in Kharkiv outside of the Sports Palace.

1344.  Noone knows where President Yanukovych is.  During the night there were reports that his plane landed in the United Arab Emirates.

1341: Parliament calls a break until 1600 and undertakes to work all days including Sundays.

1335  Hysterical calls from stage at regionnaire conference in Kharkive saying that masses of Banderites from Lviv are heading to suppress Kharkiv. Dobkin and Kernes refrained from calling for cessation and said they were for the retention of an undivided Ukraine. After the meeting they flee and board a plane to Russia.

1333 More regionnaire parliamentarians resign.

1332. Parliament votes to accept international demands for immediate release of Yulia Tymoshenko by 322 votes. 

1229: General Prosecutor Pshonka removed from office by Parliament. (247 votes for.)

1324 Parliament debating post of General Prosecutor.

1320. Arseniy Avakov temporarily elected new Minister of Interior with 275 votes for.

1319 Liashko demands that new interor minister ensures that no documents or archives are destroyed

1311. Parliament commences debate about election of new temporary Minister of Interior.

1301 Parliament confirms that yesterday's vote for a return to the 2004 Constitution is effective with or without vote of President. 

1300. Parliament votes for Turchynov to temporarily coordinate work of Cabinet of Ministers which effectively makes him temporary Prime Minister.  This and further elections are until a new cooalition govt is formed.

1245. Yanukovych not in attendance at cessation meeting in Kharkiv. Kernes and Dobkin have refrained not made any prom
