The European Union's Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighborhood Policy Stefan Fule denies Ukraine's need for considerable investments in order to implement the provisions of the association and free trade area agreements with the European Union, he told the press during a video-conference in the evening of November 25.

"We are interested in the implementation of the agreement by Ukraine. We are interested in meeting the agreement," the European Commissioner said.

He also said that it would be illogic for the EU to hold the negotiations for several years and demand correspondence to several criteria without creating proper conditions for Ukraine to implement the agreement.

Fule once again said that should the association and free trade agreements be signed, Russia would have no reasons to toughen trade conditions for Ukraine.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, on November 21, the Cabinet of Ministers decided to suspend the preparation for the association agreement signature.

Earlier, the Government had estimated the brining of Ukrainian technical regulations in line with the requirements of the EU at EUR 165 billion.
