DOBROVOLSKY AND KOZLOV EXHIBITION OPENS AT AUGB CENTRAL OFFICE

London (49 Linden Gardens)
18.09.09

AUGB's Central Office was the venue yesterday evening for the opening of an exhibition of the fabulous works of two prominent artists of Ukraine, Dmytro Dobrovolsky (paintings) and Leonid Kozlov (drawings and sculptures).

Guests included representatives from various organisations, such as the British Library, British Museum, Cambridge Art Gallery...

The evening got off to a flier with an unexpected and very pleasant surprise visit from the Minister Counsellor and Deputy Head of the Embassy of Ukraine in the United Kingdom, Viacheslav Yatsiuk, who made a special effort to attend, meet the artists and view their works.

An equally tremendous honour for the opening evening was the attendance of the extremely gifted Ivan Putrov, who is currently rehearsing the leading role of Prince for the Royal Ballet's performance of "Sleeping Beauty".

Among other distinguished guest were memAUGB's Chief Executive, Fedir Kurlak, warmly welcomed everyone to the opening of the exhibition and the Curator of the Shevchenko Library, Ludmila Pekarska, summarised the artistic talents of Dmytro Dobrovolsky and Leonid Kozlov.  Both artists expressed their very sincere gratitude to the organisers for hosting the event.

All of the items on display are on sale and, at the very least, are well worth viewing.  This is the first time that L. Kozlov's works are on display in this country.

The exhibition will be open only until 1 October.  For further details please see the AUGB's events page or contact: ludmyla.pekarska@augb.co.uk
