Leeds
09.09.09

An extremely talented Ukrainian musician, Alexej Gorlatch, has made it through to the Finals of the prestigious Leeds Pianoforte Competition.  On 12 September at 6 p.m., he will compete against 5 other finalists from across the globe by playing with an orchestra at Leeds Town Hall.

We congratulate Alexej for getting this far in the tournament, wish him all the very best for the Final, and encourage anyone living in and around Yorkshire to attend the competition on Saturday and to give him some very deserved support.

Alexej started studying piano with E.G.Georgiew in Passau. At the age of 12 he became a young student at the University of Arts in Berlin with Prof. M.Hughes. Since 2003 he has been studying at the University of Music and Drama in Hannover with Prof. K.-H.Kämmerling.

(If anyone has any doubts, just google his name...  He is, quite simply a remarkably talented Ukrainian prize-winner.)
