MESSAGE OF THANKS FROM DUTY LORD LIEUTENANT OF GREATER MANCHESTER

16.01.13

The Duty Lord Lieutenant of Greater Manchester, Kath Robinson DL, has written a very warm message of thanks to AUGB MAnchester Branch following Sunday's Christmas concert.  It message reads:

2-kath-robinson-dl.jpgPlease accept my most sincere thanks for the wonderful Christmas and New Year celebrations at the Ukrainian Centre yesterday, my husband and I were delighted to be part of it. As always the concert was an absolute delight, a truly magnificent way of demonstrating the energy, commitment and joy of those who use the centre. So many groups, so many different activities and such a wide age range, all put together in this glorious pageant of Ukrainian culture. Well done to all concerned. Thank you so much for your warm hospitality, to everyone who made it such a pleasurable occasion, so many people behind the scenes, food preparation and service and Olga and Sean Reynolds who hosted us so well on behalf of the community. I know that you all missed the presence of the Lord Lieutenant, Warren Smith and I will pass on your regards to him. I was privileged to stand in for him.

As a Mancunian born not a million miles from the centre, I grew up with the knowledge of Ukrainian contribution to the life of this great City and share your pride in it.

God Bless you all and may you long continue.
